About our company

Java without the Palaver

GRT was formed in 1995 as a small software consultancy and undertook projects in a large number of different sectors and languages, from Broadcast Automation to Expert Systems in Prolog and Lisp.

With the rise and rise of the Internet and the increasing importance of Java, the company began to specialise in Java-based projects. This meant we were able to become experts in delivering solutions using Java while allowing the company the flexibility to become involved in a diverse range of applications.

The early background of the company meant that our Java expertise was complemented by a broad range of experience. Today the company operates in a spectrum of sectors and is able to bring a depth of knowledge to all its projects.

We undertake projects both large and small and tailor the solution to meet the budget and the deadlines. Java has many advantages, not least of which is that there are many open source projects that provide industrial-strength foundations on which to build cost-effective solutions. Many of these open source projects come from the Apache stable of projects. GRT will always makes extensive use of these frameworks whereever possible. This makes technologies that used to be only available to large companies accessible to small and medium-scale enterprises.
